What is Honey Powder?

Bee Sweeter Pure Powdered Honey is the world’s purest form of honey powder. The patent pending formula for Bee Sweeter honey powder was created in conjunction with the LSU Ag Center Incubator Program on the Campus of Louisiana State University which helps food entrepreneurs bring innovative food products to the marketplace. Dr. Marvin Moncada with the Incubator is the LSU scientist who developed the formula.

Bee Sweeter is intended to be a sugar substitute competing with Sweet-N-Low, Splenda, Equal, Stevia, and other similar products. From a health perspective Bee Sweeter has a distinct advantage because it is made of actual honey as opposed to other sweeteners which are made up of chemicals or a sugar derivative. Honey is one of the oldest and healthiest foods on Earth, and instead of the inconvenient and messy version of natural honey, honey powder is just as natural and healthy, but in a significantly more convenient form. Research has shown that consumers find honey power just as sweet as sugar or other sugar substitutes, and it mixes readily in beverages or food.

The birth of Honey Powder

The concept of creating honey powder was developed after many disappointing trips to coffee houses by the owners, where it was found that natural honey was difficult, if not impossible, to mix sufficiently into coffee or other beverages. Actual honey coagulates, is sticky and messy and simply wasn’t practical to use. This led to a quest to determine why honey was not packaged and produced in an easy-to- dispense format. In subsequent research, it was discovered that honey powder did exist in the marketplace but was difficult to obtain and available mostly through web sites. More importantly, the powdered honey almost always came in the form of a product that was mostly some type of sugar with honey added. This led the owners to the LSU Ag Center Incubator program and its director, Gaye Sanchez. Sanchez and her staff enthusiastically agreed to participate, and welcomed the owners and their concept into their program. In turn, came the birth of Bee Sweeter, LLC.

The original co-owners of Bee Sweeter, LLC, which produces the honey powder are entrepreneurs Michelle Fraternali of Denver, Colorado and Eric Guirard of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is a closely held, private venture, and the owners are personally overseeing production along with their team at the facilities of the LSU Ag Center Incubator Program on the Campus of LSU.
